Fred Astaire Trophy System
We offer the Fred Astaire Trophy System as an easy way for you to track your progress while you enjoy dancing! Our Social and Advanced Foundation Programs teach beginner students the step patterns and techniques to move comfortably on the dance floor with any partner. From there, a student can progress through our Bronze* and Silver* levels - all the way to the Gold!
Fred Astaire Dance Instructors
Hailing from around the world, our teachers are actively competing, award-winning professionals and gifted educators. Many of our teachers have degrees in the fine arts and all have passed rigorous exams given by the Imperial Society of the Teachers of Dance and the Fred Astaire Curriculum certification.
Fred Astaire Dance Curriculum
Our curriculum covers the full range of American, Latin-American, International Style, and Exhibition/Theatre Arts dances. World famous dance champions and registered judges on the Fred Astaire National Dance Board constantly study and review our curriculum to make sure that only the finest, up-to-date programs are being offered to our students.
Types of Lessons:
Private Lessons
Private lessons consist of a session with one student or couple working with one instructor. These lessons are held in our ballroom and during these lessons you will learn the finer points of dancing with a partner. Private lessons provide each student with specialized and personalized attention necessary to develop the ability to lead or follow a partner. Private lessons are by appointment only.
Group Lessons
Group lessons are an important aid to private instructions, in that patterns, techniques, and style are featured in these lessons. More important, group lessons provide every student with the opportunity to meet other students with similar dancing goals.
Practice Parties
Dance parties are scheduled at the Fred Astaire Dance Studio to provide an ideal atmosphere in which to practice with teachers and other students. These parties are usually held once weekly for current students and help students to solidify the information they are learning in their private instruction.
Guest Parties
Special Guest Parties introduce new people, friends of students, to studio activities. Plus, students whose friends enroll to take lessons add free bonus lessons to their program, a way for the studio to say "Thank You"! These parties feature general dancing, professional and student exhibitions, and refreshments.
