Our great dance heritage began in 1947 when one of the greatest dancers of all time, Mr Fred Astaire, cofounded our company.  He developed a practical, interrelated dance curriculum that embodied the fundamental principles of good dancing, flavored by his style and grace.  Now, over 110 studios spread throughout the United States are teaching the "Fred Astaire Way".  Our studios offer all kinds of dance instruction - from ballroom to salsa to nightclub and shag - for all ages and abilities through private, group, and practice lessons.

We who have the privilege of carrying the trade name Fred Astaire Dance Studios are immensley proud to do so.  We have an obligation to uphold the fine reputation of the master dancer in everything we do from the moment you walk through the doors for the first time until you leave as a better dancer.  We are proud of our past and present champions and certified instructors, leading us to the highest standard of excellence in Social and Competitive dancing.

Fred Astaire Dance Studios are franchised to individual owners who are required to maintain the highest standards of excellence.  Our instructors are required, not by state or federal regulations, but by our National Council to be certified by a Fred Astaire Dance Council Member, for every level they teach.  Franchisees are required to provide a Certified Dance Director for daily dance training of all staff and to oversee each student's progress.   Our organization also requires that we maintain a satisfactory insurance coverage and adhere to State and or Federal bonding regulations for all outstanding liabilities on prepaid services.
